What is a Super Feeder®?

The Super Feeder is a dependable indoor/ outdoor automatic feeder to feed your fish, cats, small dogs, small animals, koi ponds, birds, turtles, rabbits, guinea pigs, swans, ducks and more! The original Super Feeder® by Super-Feed Enterprise® is serviceable for years to come! It has been manufactured in USA and sold globally since 1993!

The Super Feeder unit itself is made for indoor or outdoor use, but you will need the correct indoor/outdoor power adapters and controllers. We have organized our packages and combo deals to reflect your use of indoor or outdoor use. If you ever decide at a later date to change the use, you can just purchase the correct power adapter or controller to change from indoor to outdoor or vice versa.

Built for Durability & Indoor/ Outdoor Use

All Super Feeder models are constructed from thick, high-impact acrylic and polycarbonate plastics, rugged polypropylene internal components, and stainless-steel hardware for long-lasting reliability. The heavy-duty materials resist condensation, stand up to harsh conditions, and are designed to be highly resistant to animal interference.

Every component is replaceable and readily available, making maintenance simple should you ever need it. Super Feeders are extremely weather-resistant and suitable for virtually any indoor or outdoor feeding application.

Flexible Power & Control Options

The simplest way to operate your Super Feeder is with any inexpensive plug-in timer or Wi-Fi smart plug (included in combo deals). Unlike cloud-based systems, the feeder itself does not require Wi-Fi, apps, or subscriptions to operate. The timer simply powers and triggers the feeder at your scheduled times.

For outdoor installations, all KSF-2 models and CSF-3 Outdoor models include the necessary low-voltage wire. The feeder can also be connected directly to a 12-volt landscape lighting transformer or a sprinkler system timer supplying 24VAC, allowing it to function similarly to a sprinkler “zone” valve.

For advanced automation, a home automation system such as an X-10™ setup can also be used. If you do not already own a timer, Wi-Fi plug, or timer/transformer, we stock a wide selection of digital, analog and DC timers, as well as Wi-Fi smart plugs to match your setup.

Optional 12-Volt Battery Operation

For locations without access to standard 120VAC power, such as remote ponds, a 12-volt DC timer system is available. Super Feeders are already designed to operate on either 9-24VDC or AC power. To run the feeder from battery power, you will only need: wire, a 12-volt battery and one of our compatible DC timers. Because the feeder uses very little power and is only energized during feeding cycles, a solar charger is often unnecessary. Many users simply recharge the battery occasionally as needed. The 7-Day Digital Timer (DT-01) must be mounted inside a weatherproof enclosure, or you can choose the DT-03 Outdoor Metal Box Timer, which comes ready for outdoor installation. Other DC timers are also available for users requiring more daily feeding cycles.

How Feeding Cycles Work

The feeder uses a two-stage timing system for maximum flexibility and precision.

An external timer, smart plug, or control system powers and triggers the feeder at programmed times throughout the day. The feeder’s own built-in electronic timer then determines exactly how long the feeding cycle runs -no batteries required.

You pre-adjust the feeder’s internal timer to set the feed duration for each cycle. Once triggered, the feeder dispenses food for the exact run time you selected, completely independent of how long the external timer remains ON.

Depending on the external timer used, the feeder can operate anywhere from 1 to 72+ feeding cycles per day. While optional battery/timer systems are available, standard AC-powered setups are generally recommended whenever possible. See our portion adjustment page.

Precise Food Output Control

Each feeder includes an electronic adjustment and reset switch for initial setup and calibration. A green LED status light indicates when the feeder is powered and ready to operate.

Food output is controlled in two ways:
• Run Time Adjustment – determines how long the feeder dispenses food (from a split second up to approximately 70 seconds).
• Mechanical Volume Adjustment - fine-tunes how much food is dispensed during that run time.

This combination allows for extremely accurate feeding-from just a few pellets to multiple cups of food per day. Easily adjust portions from tiny snacks to larger feedings with precision.

Mounting / Installations

There are many options on how to mount/install your Super Feeder (both indoors and outdoors). The ASF-1 Aquarium model will set on the top of the aquarium. Each KSF-2 and CSF-3 unit comes with a mounting bracket and strap. You will need to mount the feeder before use. We also sell a custom stand for indoor use.
